Robert Scheer: Learning to Live With the Ayatollahs
A quote..."Of course he is, because six years of Bush’s foreign policy has had the presumably unintended consequences of elevating radicals and theocrats into positions of dominance throughout the region, from Iraq, Lebanon, the West Bank and even, this past week, to the oil emirate Bahrain, where Shiite and Sunni radical Islamists split elections in an upset."

Understand quite clearly, these consequences were NOT - and are NOT - unintended.  This is the Neocon's, Texas Cabal's and 236 Gang's  "long war", "thirty years war", "war on terrorism" and "constructive instability" with an imperial Presidency, a never ending police state and massive profits for the Military-Industrial-Oil-Complex.

They have achieved all of their short term objectives.  Admittedly they would have preferred to have pacified Iraq, to have proceeded onward to Iran and thence to the Caspian basin.....but give them time.  They will now divide the Middle East right down the middle playing Sunni against Shia, Shia against Kurd, Kurd against Turkman, plunging the region into an orgy of creative/destructive/profitable violence.

Why do you think they're asking for a massive increase in the Pentagon's budget?
Why do you think the Democrats haven’t taken immediate steps to get rid of the repressive legislation enacted by the Bushists?
Why do you think the Democrats will easily confirm Robert Gates?
Why do you think they intend to send MORE troops to Iraq?
Why do you think Bush is still adamantly going forward with his policies?

This is their game plan.  Instead of Neocon PNAC version 1.00 this will be the "new" updated ISG-OS 1.20 (it's still the same old PNAC operating system but with a nice new pretty overlay called Democratic complicity)

They will never ever stop.
