The
United
States
of
Corporate
America:
From
Democracy to Plutocracy
Some quotes....""The price of apathy towards public affairs
is to be ruled by evil men." -- *Plato*, ancient Greek philosopher
“The 20th century has been characterized by three
developments of great political importance: The growth of
democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of
corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate
power against democracy.” -- *Alex Carey*, Australian social scientist
“The most effective way to restrict democracy is to transfer
decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable
institutions: kings and princes, priestly castes, military
juntas, party dictatorships, or modern corporations.” -- *Noam Chomsky*, M.I.T.
Emeritus Professor of Linguistics

Think about it this way folks, ninety percent
of the people in this nation spend almost one hundred
percent of their time worrying about money. How to
get it, work for it, scheme for it, beg for it, steal it,
borrow it (boy that's been a big one for the last thirty
years) and of course, in the end, how to spend it.
Let's be honest about the matter folks, just about
everyone in this country treats those little bits of green
paper as their gods, they will debase themselves for it,
sell themselves for it, grovel and pray to it in their
very own churches, kill millions of foreigners and even
their next door neighbors for it. Almost all of
which they're perfectly happy to talk about, complain
about, or even boast about.
Yet ask them how it's created, who owns most of it, which
groups get it, how it's distributed, who controls it, what
it does to society, how it moves through society and most
importantly, how their votes and who they vote for, can
effect how its distributed, and they'll go totally,
absolutely, berserk.
They'll start fulminating about things that have
absolutely nothing to do with the creation of wealth or
"money" (a totally separate issue) in this country or how
it's distributed, their eyes start rolling to the back of
their heads, their faces will turn beet red, some will
even look like their having an epileptic seizure, they'll
start drooling, waving their arms wildly about in the air
while screaming about communists, socialists and
terrorists (boy, that's also been another big one for the
last thirty years) and how "we have to get them" - "all of
them" - and other completely ridiculous issues that have
nothing to do with how this nation's economy actually
works.
Folks, that's not just sick or even
schizophrenic....that's psychotic. Think about that
next time you're walking down a street somewhere in this
country, at least half of this nation’s population is
stark raving mad. – mpg
