Afghan Policeman Kills 9 Sleeping Fellow Officers
War Tactics Alert - A quote...."30 Mar 2012 An Afghan policeman killed nine of his fellow officers as they lay sleeping in a village in the eastern Paktika province on Friday, police said, blaming the attack on the Taliban. Provincial police chief Dawlat Khan Zadran said the incident took place in Yayakhil town of Yayakhil district. Bowal Khan, chief of Yayakhil district, identified the gunman as Asadullah, who goes by one name. He said the gunman was assigned to a small command post when he woke up at 3 a.m. for guard duty. He then used his assault rifle to kill the nine men sleeping inside the post, took their weapons and piled them in a pickup truck."

Other than the EFP's & IED's, this is one of the most successful tactics the Afghan resistance has developed.  It utterly demoralizes the occupation forces while making it almost impossible for them to train additional troops.

The occupation forces will not only become progressively more paranoid, but will also become even more harshly contemptuous of the "natives" than they already are. (Which many observers would have thought impossible).

Occupation forces will be tempted to engage in futile and self-destructive purges and witch hunts with each new casualty they endure making their relationships with those they are supposed to train even more contentious (again a milestone many thought difficult to achieve for forces  already TRAINED by their superior officers to regard those "natives" under their command as "sand niggers" and "camel humpers")

The tactic also strikes fear into collaborators, not just because they could be killed by these tactics at anytime, but because they do not know just how many others are lurking waiting to strike, or perhaps even worse, just how many are reporting everything they see and hear, including the names and addresses of those who join the occupation, back to the resistance.

It is a devastating and highly successful tactic. - mpg
