How
To Destroy the Government in Three Easy Steps - posted at ICH
March 18, 2009 "ICH" --
-In eight short years, conservatives have
effectively bankrupted many state governments and left the fed in
shambles. And now citizens have to "make tough decisions" and share the
suffering equally across the land (unless of course, you're part of
that lucky 1% who co-opted the functions of government to serve their
own ends... they'll be cozy with their offshore bank accounts, golden
parachutes, and permanent tax holidays). -- Are you a teacher who
educates our future citizens? Too bad. You've got to tighten your belt
and let that job go. Manual laborer? Sorry but that job can earn more
money for our shareholders if its done in Micronesia. Need a college
degree? Prepare for indentured servitude because you'll be working to
pay us off for most of your adult life. Health care? Ha! That's just a
ponzi scheme dreamed up by a bunch of socialists. -- Ever wonder how
conservatives did all this? -- Well here's your very own how-to manual
for getting Big Government out of the way so you and your buddies can
horde all the wealth to yourselves and build your empire." --

The
Crisis Will Be Profound and Prolonged
A quote...."It's been several months since the crisis of capitalism was
unleashed on the international level, with its epicenter in financial
capital and the U.S. economy. Now we have more evidence that this
crisis will be profound and prolonged, affecting all the peripheral
economies -- including Brazil. -- Many analyses of the crisis have been
published in academia and the media. There are all sorts of positions
and ideological currents. But they all converge on this diagnosis: it
is a profound crisis, worse than the crisis of 1929. It will affect the
entire world economy, which has been increasingly internationalized and
controlled by fewer than 500 companies. It will be worse, because it
combines an economic crisis, a financial crisis (of the credibility of
currencies), an environmental crisis, an ideological crisis due to the
failure of neoliberalism, and a political crisis due to the lack of
alternatives on the part of the dominant class at the center of
capitalism or the governments of the periphery."

Special Note - (Good quote) -- A quote...."There will
be a fight to be sure. In America, there is no question but to do what
it takes to get everything back to the past as fast as possible.
Americans want to reset the machine and keep on playing. The rest of
the world - who trusted their blood and treasure with the world's only
superpower - feel differently about things. It wasn't them who killed
the golden goose, but they were paying for the crime. A new global era
was taking shape while Americans dithered over politics, Barack Obama's
election being the last America would make without the input of the
world. -- There is, finally, a growing consensus (outside America) that
in a modern age, individuals, groups and states do not seek to maximize
their best interests. In fact, it turns out to be quite the opposite.
All too often, and in ways that can demolish civilization itself,
rational, free-thinking men with a stupendous concentration of power
and wealth have acted in direct contradiction of what should have been
their best interests - and ours."

Information received since the
Federal Open Market Committee met in January indicates that the economy
continues to contract. Job losses, declining equity and housing wealth,
and tight credit conditions have weighed on consumer sentiment and
spending. Weaker sales prospects and difficulties in obtaining credit
have led businesses to cut back on inventories and fixed investment.
U.S. exports have slumped as a number of major trading partners have
also fallen into recession. Although the near-term economic outlook is
weak, the Committee anticipates that policy actions to stabilize
financial markets and institutions, together with fiscal and monetary
stimulus, will contribute to a gradual resumption of sustainable
economic growth.
"The facts point to a continuing decline in the economy. On the other
hand, the Committee anticipates that the decisions of the Committee
will slowly restore the economy. This is reassuring. Think of what the
Committee would have had to say if the Committee believed that it was
the decisions of the Committee, 2000 to 2007, that got us into this
