Hyperinflation is NOT "inflation" (an expectation of a rise in prices) instead it's a fundamental and rapid deterioration in a currency's value, coupled with a scarcity in goods, at least according to the quote from a commentator shown below.  Just think of it this way folks, manufacturing is just 12% or less of the US-NRE's GDP of which 40% is for the military. This website editor once put a brand new, never opened, plastic bottle of clarified apple juice in the freezer to chill down.  Suddenly remembering it hours latter this website editor was surprised to find it was still totally liquid -- that is until it was casually set down on the counter top with a slight thump -- Whereupon this website editor proceeded to watch with amazement as white crystals, starting at the top of the bottle, and working their way slowly down to the bottom, kept growing larger and larger until the bottle was almost completely frozen within one minute.
