The End of Times?
Regarding the decline and fall of this nation's "mass media”, specifically the financial plight of some of our nation's largest and most illustrious newspapers.

Although the article makes several pertinent points, the webs parasitical relationship in using some of the information gathered by these newspapers and the helpful role some newspapers provide in maintaining a sense of community for their cities or towns, the article in general was way to sympathetic regarding these newspapers current financial plight.

When the time came for these newspapers to stand up to the power elites in this country when it really mattered, when it would have prevented the political, constitutional, economic and foreign policy disasters that have overtaken this country, when concerted action by them would have sounded a clarion call regarding the apparent catastrophes that have overwhelmed and continue to overwhelm this nation,  these guardians of the public trust failed so utterly and so completely that they will never be able to redeem their reputations again.

They did not just remain mute, just passive bystanders to what occurred, no what they did was much worse; they actively and with malice aforethought participated and facilitated the power elites rapacious desecration of everything this nation has stood for.  To this very day these "noble newspapers" refuse to investigate the events that led up to the murder of almost three thousand Americans.  Plans openly described by our power elites and easily available for all to view on the web are still, after all this time, not discussed or commented on by this nation's illustrious "fourth estate".

This nation has lost everything because of their cowardice, its constitution, its government, its treasury, its electoral process, its reputation and its future.

No one can possibly expect better from this nation's "mass media", despite all the scandals, despite all the lies being exposed, they will not change their behavior because they are so obviously the bought and paid for whores of the power elites of this country.

They cannot repent, they cannot undue the vast evil they have enabled, an evil which continues to grow to this day.

There's Nothing "Normal" About A Middle Class

The four articles above demonstrate that you can "arrange" lots of wars, invade and kill lots of people to establish empires, spend enormous amounts of the nation's treasury and increase national, personal, and trade debt, remove the wealth from the middle class but enable them to maintain their life styles by allowing them to accumulate greater amounts of said debt, all the while generating huge profits from the wars for you and your cronies.

This is what the wealthy in our society have done approximately every ten years since WWII, the debt they create and deliberately pass on to the rest of us will continue to increase per capita inflation adjusted every ten year cycle until the debt can't be paid back (deflation) or there's to much money in circulation caused by all this pump priming (inflation) or the dollar declines (stagflation?) or some combination of all three factors expressed over time.

To fight deflation (which they dread) the wealthy will allow consumers to increase their debt loads if possible and they'll continue their wars when necessary.  To fight inflation (which they dislike) the wealthy will continue to drive down wages and benefits while raising interest rates when necessary. All their actions will continue to erode the middle class and at some point the increasing load of debt may become totally unsustainable (depression)

However the elites have been successful so far.

Govt Death Squads Ravaging Baghdad

A UN human rights report released September last year held Interior Ministry forces responsible for an organized campaign of detentions, torture, and killings. It reported that special police commando units accused of carrying out the killings were recruited from Shia Badr and Mahdi militias and trained by U.S. forces.

Retired Col. James Steele, who served as adviser on Iraqi security forces to then-U.S. ambassador John Negroponte, supervised the training of these forces.

Steele was commander of the U.S. military advisory group in El Salvador 1984-86, while Negroponte was U.S. ambassador to nearby Honduras 1981-85. Negroponte was accused of widespread human rights violations by the Honduras Commission on Human Rights in 1994. The Commission reported the torture and disappearance of at least 184 political workers.

The violations Negroponte oversaw in Honduras were carried out by operatives trained by the CIA, according to a CIA working group set up in 1996 to look into the U.S. role in Honduras.

The CIA records document that his "special intelligence units," better known as "death squads," comprised CIA-trained Honduran armed units that kidnapped, tortured, and killed thousands of people suspected of supporting leftist guerrillas."

"  What this quote means is that while the U.S. provides the tools, the equipment, the money, the training, and the supervision to have our hired help do all our atrocities for us, our glorious elites who've promulgated and encouraged these policies get to totally avoid any responsibility for them.....right?

Gee!  This ALL sounds so familiar, like something that once happened a long time ago on a certain fateful day.....hummmm what was that horrendous day called, nine something or other wasn't it?

Even if the U.S. elites’ received prior warnings of these attacks, gave vast amounts of funds to the organization responsible, allowed their rich foreign friends to do the same, provided training, logistical support and an open door for the attacks by their actions, or lack of them, they are still not culpable for these attacks……isn't that true?

Even if the attacks profited our elites and helped further their desires to plunder the vast oil resources of the Middle East, allowed them to wrest huge fortunes from the national treasury, allowed them to pass draconian legislation to completely control the political process in this country and conformed with plans they themselves had drawn up many years prior to the attacks, it all still just HAS to be a series of unconnected coincidences...... correct?

Even if the elites' actions and influence regarding this countries security programs before 9/11 just 'happened' to allow them to garner vast fortunes from that particular day, it still does not make them responsible for that awful tragedy ....isn’t that right?

The Last Days of the Dollar
Many people have been saying that for years and it hasn't happened so far.

It's possible the dollar could be in trouble soon though.  That prediction is made not because of the usual financial analysis one hears of the U.S.'s increasing debt and it's decreasing ability to pay it off.  That's never stopped the US consumer before or seriously caused concern about the dollar’s value.  Nor is it due to any of the financial warnings already covered by many of the pundits out there.

No, this warning is given because when the rich in our country start to create internment camps and pass bills like the military commissions bill (the torture - end of habeas corpus bill), when the rich start monitoring all our financial transactions and our communications, when the rich are that concerned about controlling a society.... it's usually a sign they know financial trouble is right around the corner.

Contrary to an article shown below which predicted he wouldn't sign the bill, but would let it become effective through the 'pocket veto' (unlike how it sounds if Bush doesn't sign a bill within ten days while Congress is still in session the legislation automatically becomes law) it appears he went and actually put his signature on that odious piece of paper.

The fact that Oliver Stone might actually participate in this farce is really sad.  What a way to end one’s career in the film business, making cheap bogus propaganda for the Neocons.  It makes one wonder what they have on him, whatever it is, it's not worth degrading your reputation so abysmally as Oliver Stone is about to do.  Nothing could be worth that price.
