It appears they were actually aiming to crash the market and the economy in 2011 or thereabouts, but they had done so much damage and leveraged everything so much, and had so little visibility of each others positions (that's what happens when you create a quadrillion dollar, non-regulated exchange market, with non-standard, esoteric, price to whatever, synthetic, financial instruments)  that it crashed early, and they panicked.

The only question that remains now is, is all this funny money they're currently printing just to allow them to re-balance their positions, get out, and crash it again as planned in 2011 or thereabouts, or are they truly intending to pump up an uncharacteristic (just take a look at the chart  ---  http://www.reficultnias.org/mikesfiles/cachedfiles/fedfundschart-photopg-cached-032407  ---  again) medium term (one to three years) bubble?

Or will they just let the economy sag and limp along for the next ten years as they did during the early seventies to eighties stagflationary period, which they were forced to do back then because they were fiscally, politically and militarily unable to launch any further big wars?
