A Remarkable Achievement 10-17-07 mpg Don't they have ANY pride? Don't they have ANY conscience? Every single incident of "terrorism" appears to have been forged or allowed to "go forward", or even initiated by the security forces of the United States or Britain. Every single act uncovered so far of US military malfeasance in Iraq has always begun with some attempt at a cover-up. Every single piece of evidence produced for the gullible public by the "intelligence community" or "security forces" of the United States and Great Britain in their reckless rush to war has later proved to be at best, an inflated piece of dubious and suspect information cherry-picked by those in charge, or at worst, a series of fantasies deliberately manufactured out of thin air. Every single item printed in our mass-media, broadcast on our faux-news networks, or spewed out by this nation's five corporate conglomerates has consistently turned out to be wrong, false or a cold calculated lie. Everything these people have told their respective national citizenry.....in the end has turned to dust. Every single thing. It's a remarkable one hundred percent record of mendacity, and the worst part of it all is that our elites don't even bother to occasionally throw in a little bit of truth to keep us guessing and off balance. They're that sure of themselves, they're that arrogant and contemptuous of the citizens in their societies. And why shouldn't they be, the "little people" keep repeating the lies they're told day after day after miserable day. They keep buying and consuming the mass-media swill served up to them by our elites and by so doing, practically begging their elites to continue to treat them with contempt. In many dystopian fantasies the "people" are involuntary force fed lies by their totalitarian governments and many writers thought that this was as low as a society could go. It's not....we as a people have achieved a new measure of the degradation of truth and our self respect. Our citizens part with their hard earned cash to ingest this swill because they want to be lied to, to be treated like little children, because it comforts them, because they want to be infantilized, because they need to conform. It's hard to imagine how one could become more servile, more agreeable to one's own slavery than to voluntarily place one's own mind in chains. No society of "free men" could ever become as base as that. We have achieved a new distinction on the road to tyranny; we willingly pay our masters for our own servitude. A remarkable achievement. - mpg |
