After all the 9/11 commission had the exact same policy during their own investigations, in fact they went one step further than the Marines. The 9/11 commission told some of their witnesses not to testify regarding certain subjects when they were called to appear and wouldn’t even take testimony from others who had verifiable, crucially important information to give.

Despite the opinions expressed in the article above, it may still be possible to continue this ten year cycle (they seem to start around the two's, '52, '62, '72, '82, '92, '02 etc. precisely when the elites start their wars). To continue this current cycle however one would have to have faith in Bernanke’s ability to lower interest rates sufficiently if he sees the economy getting into trouble.

This would allow people to lower their borrowing costs but would also enable them take on more debt, and the question everyone has to ask themselves is just how much additional debt can the US’s financial system take? If you can answer that question, if you can tell when debt finally DOES matter, as apposed to Cheney’s comment that “debt doesn’t matter” - you'll know when to bail.

If Bernanke can lower interest rates timely enough without some of the serious side effects such a move could cause (lower dollar, higher inflation, etc.) the elites will have about five more years to go till the next cycle. If they can’t lower interest rates and the mounting debt starts to take its toll, than this ten year cycle will go bust.

In either case they'll have to start another war to keep deflation in check.

There have been quotes of 300 to 400 trillion dollars of various derivatives out there; keep in mind the entire U.S. economy generates about 11 to 13 trillion dollars worth of activity per year. The U.S.'s great depression occurred when people were allowed to buy stocks on 10% margin; some of these guys out there are trading with margins of essentially 1% or 1/10 of 1% controlling trillions on paper. Of course it gives them fantastic leverage and the potential for staggering profits....and also horrendous losses. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "funny money"

After all we're about to start another war with Iran to prevent what looks like a bad recession in 2007. Bernanke as always is ready to prime the pump by printing more money and allowing everyone to float more debt. Our friends the Saudi Royals will continue to allow all those petro-dollars circulating worldwide to be used to pay for their oil and they'll keep recycling them right back into America keeping our currency from tanking. Finally corporations are flush with cash, much of which they've taking from the American worker.

However their cash is dwarfed by the continuous increase in the Trade, National, Personal/Household and other Corporate debt (mostly manufacturing industries : non-defense). Like an addict America seems to need larger and larger doses of debt approximately every ten years to stimulate the economy while producing less and less of an economic return in investment, job growth, wage growth, or infrastructure development.

But the conservatives have been right with every roll of the dice, every doubling down on the economy they've taken…..so far.

Like the man said as he passed the 2nd story of the 40 story building whose roof he'd just leapt from ….."so far so good".

Considering that many of the "cooperative" government employees involved with the difficulties prior to 9/11 got promoted, have participated in sham investigations of the events that led up to 9/11, supported policies which have increased terrorism per the NIE, somehow "let" Osama "escape" from Toro Bora, have stated he wasn't important anyway, helped evacuate thousands of Taliban and al Qaeda members from Kunduz in Afghanistan during the U.S. invasion of that country, are still cooperating with Pakistan's ISI in their continual support of the Taliban, with the Saudis in their support of Wahabbism and as outlined in Project Censored's recently released "Global Dominance Group" document are cooperating with this nation's ten wealthiest families and the 236 people who coordinated U.S. policies before and after 9/11 who continue to profit from 9/11 and the resultant "war on terror", one would have to conclude that actions by such "cooperative" employees and the firing of “uncooperative” employees by their superiors are, at best, obstructionist in halting further terrorist attacks on the U.S.

It is also reasonable, moral, and perhaps even legally justifiable that one could conclude something much, much worse.

They and the opinion polls are just crud, you know what Bush’s approval ratings were right after 911?” he asked sharply.

I shook my head no.

“90%, that’s what they were” he replied, “and they’ll be the same again after the next terrorist incident, which let me assure you will be a big one. After that we will,” he said the next with a particularly venomous expression,” get rid of all those ‘peace-niks’ permanently.”

I asked with a measure of foreboding “How do you know we’ll have another ‘big one’?”

“Because this country need’s to be motivated to go after Iran.” He said curtly.

“And when will this country be ‘motivated’?” I inquired worriedly.

“Before the election next year,” he replied assuredly, “the economy will be heading into a recession by then as the housing market slows down and we’ll be able to afford the extra cost of a war by dropping the interest rates. If not by then it’ll happen prior to the next presidential election three years from now. After all, we’ve run this scenario practically every ten years.”

More about Iran and war.

It doesn't matter what Iran does or does not do. Whether Iran intends to build the bomb or not. After all look at what happened to Iraq. Look at what happened to Lebanon. Look at what happened to the Palestinians. Everything this administration said, every word out of their collective mouths, every promise they ever made, every prediction they ever uttered, was false, wrong, or a cold calculated lie. No agreement ever signed by this administration would ever be honored. No statement ever made by this administration could ever be trusted.

It's all about the oil - It's all about the money - It's all about control of the gulf - It's all about neo-colonialism. If Iran gets the bomb they will not be attacked, if they don't they will be, sooner or later..... they will be. It's as simple as that.

We would break them you see. Our methods of control could be less refined, made to be more ‘simple’ so to speak. It was at this point that the guards would have a little fun. They would take a prisoner from one gang put him in a courtyard with another from a rival gang and encourage them to fight to the death. If they didn’t fight, the guards would simply shoot them. It would remind me of the glorious days of the Roman coliseum” he finished wistfully.

“But can you believe for simply having a little relaxation time” Mr. Reficul said with a frown of disapproval,” some of these guards were actually arrested? How silly can you get? It goes to show how many bleeding hearts we have in this country. Luckily the juries that were selected acquitted almost every one of the guards exactly as they did for the jailers in charge of Abu Ghairab. Now we get to use these same wonderful techniques on an entire country.”

“We play Sunnis against Kurds, Kurds against Shi’ites, Shi’ites against Sunni. Anybody gets out of line and misbehaves we kill them. They don’t do what we tell them to do we kill them. All the while we keep playing one group against another while our solders remain in their fortified bases. After awhile everyone becomes real cooperative.”

“Ah” Mr. Reficul said with a contemplative expression, ”you should have seen some of the videos from Abu Ghairab, what was done to some of those young men before they finally died was sublime.”

“The Moslems are so easy to ‘play’,” he continued sighing contentedly while gazing at the distant desert mountains, “We’ll divide the whole middle east eventually by playing the Sunni countries off against the Shi’ite. That’ll make everything run predictably and smoothly for the Saudis and us for the next ten years, and provide another pretext to attack Iran. After that war is over we’ll just pick up the remaining pieces.”

“Think about it, we’ve been planning this thing of ours for almost two decades. Take very careful note of this article. The conservative owners of the "mass media" in this country have endlessly stated their decisions regarding the content they choose to air have always been predicated on "financial considerations." Perhaps, they should have said "other" financial considerations, like their ties to the party in power, or their corporate interests.

Based on this article they certainly haven’t predicated many of their decisions on the ratings or performance of some of their shows. In other words some of their statements regarding this issue are misleading, most of them are out right lies.

And these "gentleman" call themselves the titans of the communications industry. We should actually call them garbage man, not to demean the honest hardworking guys who come to our doors to take the stuff away, no these "gentleman" are garbage man because they do the opposite, they deliver the stuff to our doors every day, it's what they peddle to us.

Again everyone should ask yourselves......why are you watching their garbage. Go to cable, or video, or DVD, or the web for entertainment. As for knowledge, as for truth, as for facts, NEVER expect to hear or read an accurate, true or germane statement from a corporately owned commercial broadcaster..... period. Always go to the web, or read a good book instead.

As people who care would say "a mind is a terrible thing to [fill up with] waste" or as Karl Rove would say "that's a great idea".

This is a good article, the author states that the "mass media" in this country believe criticism of Bush and his cronies is only important, or to be reported, if it comes from the power elites in our society, especially from those who are to the right of the political spectrum.

The three articles shown above highlight an important formative development in U.S. politics where it really matters, in the privy councils of the rich and powerful. It appears a schism has developed between PNAC, the Texas Cabal, the Military-Industrial-Oil Complex (M.I.O.C.) on the one hand and the rest of the American Industrial Elites (A.I.E.s) on the other (the Generals and other governmental peons don't really matter, no matter what John Murtha says.)

The power struggle that has developed may finally lead to the ouster of the Texas Cabal (Bush is just a front man). Although if this hypothesis is true, it is extremely perplexing as to why the American Industrial Elites faction would allow Bush to be granted such extraordinary powers as was contained in the recently passed "torture bill".

Perhaps the AIE's plan is to have Bush remain to serve their interests for the next two years as long as Rumsfeld and perhaps Cheney (for “health reasons”) are forced to resign. This scenario could easily be determined if for the next five weeks criticism is directed solely at these two individuals while bypassing Bush. It would be a clever tactic on the AIE's part, to have a weakened lame duck president now beholden to them for support instead of the Texas Cabal and the MIOC.

Tenet, then the director of central intelligence, is reported to have warned Condoleezza Rice, then the national security adviser, about an imminent Al Qaeda attack and failed to persuade her to take action."

“None of this was shared with us in hours of private interviews, including interviews under oath, nor do we have any paper on this,” said Timothy J. Roemer, a Democratic member of the commission and a former House member from Indiana. “I’m deeply disturbed by this. I’m furious.”

Two Months Before 9/11, an Urgent Warning to Rice
A contrasting Quote #2 from the Washington Post......" The July 10 meeting between Tenet, Black and Rice went unmentioned in the various reports of investigations into the Sept. 11 attacks, but it stood out in the minds of Tenet and Black as the starkest warning they had given the White House on bin Laden and al-Qaeda.Though the investigators had access to all the paperwork on the meeting, Black felt there were things the commissions wanted to know about and things they didn't want to know about.

This is important. If quote #2 and the story from the Washington Post is correct than the usual dissembling has occurred between the hand picked 9/11 commission and this administration’s officials.

If quote #1 and the story from the New York Times is correct, than this whole situation suddenly becomes much less amusing.

Let's define less amusing.... this country has just passed a torture bill where EVERY American may be subject to it's provisions.

To quote from Molly Ivans.....”The bill also expands the definition of an unlawful enemy combatant to cover anyone who has ‘has purposefully and materially supported hostilities against the United States.’ Quick, define ‘purposefully and materially.’ One person has already been charged with aiding terrorists because he sold a satellite TV package that includes the Hezbollah network."

And....."The bill simply removes a suspect’s right to challenge his detention in court. This is a rule of law that goes back to the Magna Carta in 1215. That pretty much leaves the barn door open."

And....."that the compromise [for the bill] took out the words permitting interrogation involving ‘severe pain’ and substituted ‘serious pain,’ which is defined as ‘bodily injury that involves extreme physical pain.’”

Let's ask the question, what's worse.... "selling a satellite TV package that includes the Hezbollah network." or not telling the 9/11 commission what did you know and when did you know it regarding the attacks prior to 9/11? Or not telling the commission about your personal, financial and political relationships to the Saudis Royal and bin Laden families?

Maybe Ms. Rice along with all the others in this administration should become the first U.S. citizens to be fully subject to this bill's provisions, at least until the American people find out what she and they really do know. Even if it takes years.

Quote ...."Former CIA Director George Tenet gave the independent Sept. 11, 2001, commission the same briefing on Jan. 28, 2004, but the commission made no mention of the warning in its 428-page final report. According to three former senior intelligence officials, Tenet testified to commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste and to Philip Zelikow, the panel's executive director and the principal author of its report, who's now Rice's top adviser."

So we have one commission member saying he didn't hear anything about these meetings and the 9/11 faux-commission did not include these meetings in their final report.

It's been known for years that many of the 9/11 families who pleaded and begged to have the 9/11 commission established were very suspicious (see 911 press for truth ) of the chairmanship of this commission being given to Philip Zelikow. The primary reason for their suspicions was because of his long term personal and political relationships with the members of the Bush administration otherwise known as the Texas Cabal.

It appears they were right. Perhaps Mr. Zelikow should also be subject to the full provisions of this administration's new torture bill. Whatever it takes to find out the truth.
